The Australian real estate crisis is still difficult to solve the problem with the recent predictions that the situation can get worse before it gets better.

The suggestions of the NSW State

One of the central boards of the suggestions in November 2023 was the relaxation of the application rules of the local council to enable more double jobs (two separate houses on a single lot) in all residential areas with a low density in R2 throughout the NSW.
In turn, increasing the range of housing should lead to more affordable apartments and the optimization of land use.
Proven idea
The idea of creating independent apartments from existing housing stocks is anything but new. Anyone who spent time in London would be familiar with the number of individual houses that were converted into several apartments.
A significant difference between Sydney and London is that the latter already has many multi-stage apartments-ETWA two or three floors with cellars that can be converted into apartments without major construction work.

So far, the NSW government has worked together to work with the municipal councils cooperatively and to encourage them to change their rules so that this initiative becomes a reality.
