Walk -in closet progress – I finally started painting !! (Plus to trigger color or not?)

I did so much on my walk -in wardrobe last weekend, and although I wasn’t almost as painted when I went to bed last night, as I hoped for it, I finally finally some Cabinets painted! But you have to forgive me that you have buried the Lede because I want to withdraw you and show you all the progress in order.

If you read the post on Friday at the beginning of the day, you may have missed one of the remaining jewelry shells that I bought from Amazon (these are the ones I bought) cut off to the right size to achieve this remaining 3.5-inch gap and then put it back together. Now I have a fully adapted look that fits perfectly with the width of the drawer. And I received this individual look for less than $ 70 and about 45 minutes of my time. This is to pay over 500 US dollars for a completely tailor -made jewelry drawer insert!

After working on it, I spent the rest of the Fridays. I prepared the rest of the cupboards on the right side of the room, and all cupboards on the left side of the room are prepared. I still have to make the corners with a brush, but all the parts I could do with a 6-inch role are ready.

It is astonishing how much primer alone has changed the appearance of the cupboards. Before that, it was a sea of brown plywood with a white pre -defined trim …

And now that everything has the same color, even if it is thin, streaked primer, it looks so much better. (I used my new favorite primer, interest. Bin Shellac-based primer). As soon as Primer continues, you can really get a much better idea of what the finished cupboards will look like.

And then I spent Saturday to be the most feared, but most importantly – the step of everyone – delicious. I hate how to gasp so much, but I never jump this step because it makes such a big difference in the finished project. The greatest pain was to correct these short shoe shells. I was able to put my boiler gun there to the right angle to chew where she had to go, but I got it up and forth because it had to be done. You can see the huge difference that Caulk makes below.

Here is a shelf in front of sealing. First of all, you can see why I would like to plan before nesting. It makes all these dark cracks and columns so much easier to see and is much more difficult to overlook. When I try to boil before my main thing, I always shook areas that had to be abbreviated.

And that is what it looks like after sealing. What a difference!

Before I was able to prepare the jewelry drawer and the necklace organizer, I had to complete the design on the necklace organizer. In the end I went on the front with this very simple design.

I decided that I don’t run anything over the front, which would stand in the way of the simple access to the necklaces, so I only use the front necklace as a train. It took me a while to find out all of this, end the design and then take everything apart again (that is, the drawer slides, sticks and pole hardware) so that I fill wood, sand, suction and promotion.

I crouched everything on the right wall, except for the closet on the door. When I finished the shoe shell, I decided that I deserved a reward for my perseverance. And this reward was finally to be painted!

I didn’t get as far as I hoped for. I had hoped to have the first two sections completely painted while waiting for the boilers to dry in the shoe racks. But I didn’t completely paint the entire second section. But at least I had to do some Painting.

I use Sherwin Williams Emerald Paint in a satin finish for these cupboards. This color is ridiculously expensive (approx. 115 US dollars per gallon), which is much more than I am used to output for Behr painting at Home Depot.

The color is referred to as a mere breeze and is a light green blue.

I am used to using Behr color from the home depot, so I seriously doubt that it is worth paying over 100 US dollars for a gallon color. But as soon as I started painting the cupboards, I realized that this color was worth every cent. I decided on a brush brush for the corners and the decorative power and a 6-inch roller for smooth surfaces for all flat surfaces. This color continues so smoothly and it is a dream with which you can paint. I was nervous when I used a satin finish, which is the lowest shine that this color comes into play. You know that I hate shiny surfaces and I always had a problem with Benjamin Moore’s preliminary coat in a satin finish because it is too shiny for my taste. But this is perfect!

It still takes two layers, and this is just the first coat. But take a look at this beautiful color! And shine!

In fact, I love the color so much that I can blame the color with the room. Basically, this means that I would paint everything in the room in this color – all cupboards, the entire cladding (even the crown shape and base stripes that are not on the cupboards), the window cladding, the door cladding and the ceiling.

The only areas that would not be soaked in color in this beautiful greenish color would be areas in which I plan to add wallpaper – the walls around the washing machine and dryer and the upper section in the middle cabinet on the wall on the right. Everything else would be canceled breeze.

I tried to find a good example of a color -naut room with light wooden floors, and I found this on Instagram by Rock Creek Builders …

I think that’s absolutely beautiful. Of course, this room is painted with Benjamin Moore Hale Navy, that is Away Darker than the color I use. The Hale Navy is at the bottom left and the color I use (SW -Wogende breeze) is right. So you can see what a big difference in color.

So my color -nautner room would be much brighter and brighter than the color -nautical office of Rock Creek Builders. But the concept would be the same (with the addition of wallpaper in my closet).

Anyway, it is just something I think, because with all the greenish-blue cupboards, I am a little concerned that a white cladding could protrude like a painful thumb. I am generally a kind of white ceiling. In fact, the only ceiling in our house that is not painted white is the hallway room that has a colored wood ceiling.

And of course this room remains a bathroom forever. At some point it will be a storage cabinet as soon as we build the addition with the new guest resort.

I wanted to dye a room for a while now and I think this closet could be my chance. And when I put a color on a blanket, what is better than a light green blue? So I think I’ll do it. I don’t have to use the expensive color for the ceiling, and if I don’t like it, I can always go back and you know, right?
