For this DIY craft project you can buy all supplies such as mussels and optional sand, or you can pick them up from a vacation as a souvenir idea.
At the beginning, give your shovel a thorough cleaning to remove dirt or debris and then dry completely. As soon as it is clean, spray the entire shovel with Krylon plastic color and make a even coat safe. Depending on the original color of your toy shovel, you may have to apply a second layer to achieve a lively finish.
This project is wonderfully versatile and enables you to personalize it with all the beach treasures you find. During this tutorial mussels, you are welcome to include other coastal jewelry such as toy creations, beach glass or pebbles.
After your shovel is completely dry, it is time to add sealing. Start spreading the seal from the bottom of the shovel and work up to achieve a natural, wave -like effect, as shown in Amber’s design. For an authentic note, you can sprinkle sand on the wet canting and give your wreath a really sandy texture. Press your mussels and other decorations carefully into the seal and order them until you are satisfied with the look.
As soon as your design is complete, leave it for a full 24 hours to ensure that everything is safe. Add some ligaments in the grip for one last flourishing or bind them on a decorative arch.
These shovels with beach motifs make fantastic summer gifts, especially for grandparents who appreciate the memories of the coast they have.
